Clogging commonly occurs when excess vapor cools and then condenses along the walls of the inner cartridge. When enough of this vapor has resolidified into oil, the buildup can block the airway and make it difficult or impossible to draw air through the mouthpiece.
There are two easy solutions: One to prevent the problem and the other to solve it. To reduce the buildup of vapor oil, continue pulling on the cart several seconds after releasing the button. By drawing cold air through the mouthpiece, you are siphoning excess oil that would otherwise stick to the sides, ensuring less condensation. This is by far the most effective way to prevent blockage.
Taking softer hits will also help preserve the life of your vape cartridge. Pulling too hard can draw excess oil into the airway instead of vapor, which leads to clogging. This is known as a “flooded” cart, because the oil has flooded the airway.
If your cartridge is already showing signs of blockage, removing the oil is the easiest way to get it back up and running smoothly. Stick a toothpick or other thin object into the mouthpiece and scrape the sides for residue. You’ll likely find a small pocket where the oil is collecting. Once removed, air should once again begin flowing through the chamber freely.
